Feeling better about the weather

Now that it’s rainy. My bike won’t be finished until the weekend sometime.
It’s been getting nicer in terms of weather the past couple weeks. It wasn’t long ago we were buried in feet of snow. I had intended on working on my motorcycle early while it was still cold. Now the weather is nice, and I’m stuck with my bike in pieces! She ran rough last season and and knew the next step was to clean and inspect the carbs. I have a 1984 Honda Nighthawk 650 I bought from a friend in northern MN. I’m not a very mechanical person, but figured this would be a good way to start learning about small engines. (more…)
I’m behind a few days in posting. Thursday was a busy day. Mike from Rochester came in the afternoon to ride with Joy and I to house group in Willmar. I’ll tell you a bit about Mike and our time at the meeting, then comes the wild part! (more…)
I’m long back from AZ, but wanted to finish out the details of my trip before I forget them all. As I mentioned, Joy and I rented a car and took off with her mom (her parents were RVing in the south and met up with is in Phoenix while we were there) north toward the Grand Canyon. (more…)
We started the day a bit earlier than I preferred. We left the house in Phoenix about 8a. My grogginess lasted until about 9a when the coffee from Carl Jr.’s finally made it into my system. We headed north on I-17 to a neat little place called Sunset point. Too bad it was 10:30a.

I slept in this morning, that felt good. We basically got up in time to meet Chip and his wife for lunch at Waldo’s BBQ @ 11a. Chip was late, but we were enjoying the decor too much to notice. We had very good food to accompany the conversation. There was some difference in how I thought Chip would look/talk/act, the difference between his “digital self” and reality. Same thing with Jerrid and Jeffrey and others I’ve recently met face-to-face after an extended digital relationship. (more…)
Arizona is beautiful! Sunny, 90 degrees. The flight was good. My boss Sieu picked Jerrid up from PHX terminal 2, and came to pick Joy and I up at terminal 3. We went to Sieu’s house and settled in. I feel like we are the guests of honor, staying in their house during their preparations for their reception Jerrid and I have been working at the office in Tempe the last two days. Got to meet my local team member Jeffrey, interesting fellow. He’s been using Ada longer than I’ve been alive! (more…)
I’m making a list, checking it twice, trying to make sure I don’t forget anything as Joy and I prepare to head off to sunny Arizona for a week. My boss is getting hitched, and we’ve been invited to the reception. It’s been a year since I’ve been there… most of the guys I interact with came on board since my visit, so I have several people to meet. (more…)
Carol (whose last name shall remain… well, nameless) from Shiloh requested that I remove her last name from my blogroll. Even though her picture is posted for all to see, the last name is off-limits. Here’s to Carol, our paranoid person of the week! ![]()
Today is the first Monday after DST came to rob me of that hour of sleep I needed. The company I’m with, Singo Solution, is based in Arizona. They unlike most of the rest of the world are smart enough to ignore DST altogether, which is great for them, but now they’re 2 hours behind me instead of one.
